She was merely walking home one day, the summer night was warm and had a sweet smell of roses in the wind. Suddenly she stopped by the park, it was always eerie when it came night time. Even though she walked in it daily, it still had a dark evilness to it whenever the sun went down. She began to walk away when she heard music, it was beautiful. Like violins..no..pianos...no...something else. Something was making that hypnotizing music, it couldn't be from the mouth...that would be impossible. She walked back to the entrance of the park, it was coming from inside. She fought with herself whether or not she should go in. Finally the music had pulled her in, she couldn't resist finding out who was making that intoxicating sound. She was so drawn to the music that she didn't notice the dark looming trees, the shadows dancing on the grass, and the cats high on the branches hissing at her. She was so concentrated on the music that all of her fears left her, and all that was left was the sound of the melody. Finally after crawling through some bushes, she stumbled upon a lake. She could have sworn that it was red, like blood, but no it was probably the trick of the moonlight. Candles seemed to dance on top of the water and vines wrapped around two pillars. It was such a magical setting. And in the middle of the two pillars was a stepping stone of some sort...looked like a pedestal. Looking around more, she wondered where the music was coming from. She then realized that it was coming from the lake itself. It was as if it was calling just to her...like it wanted her to walk into it. She tried to fight the urge to dive in...but she couldn't, the music had a tight grip of her will and forced her to walk into the lake. The water went over her head and she was gone.
The next night, a boy was walking home when he heard music coming from the park. He went in, following the same path as the girl, when he came upon the lake. And atop the pedestal...was the girl..singing. Her blood red cape made from the very lake wrapped around her entire body, only exposing her face. Her mouth partly opened, showing sharp fangs of the vampire. At her legs clung the souls of those lost to her song. Glancing up she saw the boy and smiled. The boy became frightened and wanted to run away...suddenly the girl began to sing..and the boy couldn't fight it. He walked into the lake, his head went under the water..and he was gone. Smiling, she sang the last note of her melody, and disappeared into the waters of the lake. So if you ever are walking home one night, and you walk past a park, and you hear a song.....run. For it is the melody of the Lake of Eternal Blood.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
